class believes. the things that president clinton used, balanced approach. opportunity and, i thought that governor romney really didn't do anything to dissuade the general public from the view that he would like to go back to the days of the bush tax cuts for the wealthy and hope that this time, instead of growing deficits, and growing unemployment, that it grows jobs. so governor romney really needed a game changer tonight. i hate to say this but i find myself agreeing with chris christie. governor romney really needed to turn the world upside down. he really need ad game changer tonight. i think you would be sore pressed to find that magic moment that was the game-changer tonight. and, so, that was my view in watching it anyway. i also thought the president did a very good job finally nailing governor romney down to admitting he does want to turn medicare into a voucher program. i thought the president pushed back on that very effectively, when he said, hey, if you're 55 you might want to listen to this. i'm still not sure exactly what governor romney was saying about his promise o

debated in all this time. obama is really good. he did come out of nowhere. he beat the clinton machine. he did it in part in his debate, oratory. he will be strong. his one weak point is he is thin skinned. you o the press conference. if romney can manage to get under his skin in some way, that happened in 2008. one or two of the clinton debates. i think it could puncture that aura that obama had. i don't think there is any way to be decisive. one thing that is going to help romney simply being on the stage is always true of the challenger. just being on the same stage as the president instantly raises your stature. if he can hold his own and perhaps prevail to the minor extent he will reverse momentum which has been rather negative. last couple of weeks. >> bret: a.b., the -- liste listen, the economy, there are still a lot of concerns. just talking to folks in arapahoe county county there are concerns long-term and concerns about the national debt and deficit. concerns about jobs specifically in colorado. if you look at the markets, from the time the president got in office until now

in the race because there was no way he was going to beat hillary clinton or the other candidates like john edwards and others who were ahead of him in line. he needed to consolidate the black vote, and he went down there, and he told an african-american audience what they wanted to hear. he gave them the rhetoric and used the sort of dialect that he thought would go over well with that audience and also played up his bona fides as a congress regant of jeremiah wright, a person who was well esteemed in that crowd. so that's what he was trying to do then. now, if you're president obama, you're walking onto the debate stage tonight in denver where you are, megyn, and you are expecting to be treated deferentially, you are expected to live this sort of this cloud of presidential privilege where people don't say stuff, and you don't have to pander, you don't have to go out of your way to tell audiences what they want to hear to such a great degree because you are the incumbent. so for the president he cannot like that this is part of the discussion today. i'm sure as you saw with ben he bolt, it
